Aristide J. "AJ" Laurent, the openly gay co-founder of "The Advocate" newspaper, died on October 26, 2011 at his home in Los Angeles. GLAAD joins those mourning the loss of Laurent and appreciates his work to elevate LGBT issues and advocate for equality.
