This Saturday will mark the 251st annual New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and once again, LGBT groups will be shut out. And once again this year, New York’s NBC Affiliate is airing - and thereby undoubtedly financially supporting - this discriminatory event.
Over 30 clergy across New York City will be preaching about homeless LGBT youth in their houses of worship this weekend, January 20-22. The preaching exercise is a part of the Weekend of Prayer and Learning to educate people of faith about youth homelessness, particularly among LGBT youth.
In recognition of the important work they do, Trinity Place Shelter is one of seven recipients of this year’s Union Square Awards in the social justice category.
