In response to stories that NFL teams are wondering whether Notre Dame star football player and Heisman Trophy runner-up Manti Te’o is gay, former Bears Quarterback Jim Miller said that religion would prevent a gay player from being accepted in an NFL locker room.

Manti Te'o is a Hawaiian-born Mormon Eagle Scout who plays football for Notre Dame. Here's where someone who identifies with any of those communities can find support for LGBT inclusion and equality.

This post is not about whether he should have said that, nor about whether that's even the actual truth. Rather, it's about reassuring his young fans that, if it was true, and if that had been his answer, he would have found love and support in each and every one of the communities with which he identifies.
