—Dismissed trans facility access: “The Democrats have taken a real but small problem—the question of how to afford transgendered [sic] people access to facilities they need—and elevated it into something huge: the principle that people with penises have a right to use the shower facilities of their choice no matter how uncomfortable or unsafe they make women feel, as a group of Oregon homeless women recently found out.”
—Said of Democratic Party support for trans rights: “A party of decency would not decide that there is some fundamental right to expose yourself to the opposite sex in the name of transgender rights. A party of decency certainly would not tell every public school in America that it risks losing federal funding unless it invades girls’ privacy rights, as President Obama has done with Hillary Clinton’s endorsement.
—Used flawed research from anti-LGBTQ researchers to make conclusive statements about genetics and medical procedures: “The simple fact is that sexual orientation, while not necessarily chosen, is not genetically determined (for otherwise identical twins would share the same orientation which, we know, they do not). We aren’t merely ‘born that way.’ The mystery of sexual desire has not yet been pierced by scientific knowledge. Even worse for the Left’s ideology, their research shows that we do not have any solid evidence of the mental-health benefits of hormonal or surgical gender reassignment for adults, much less for children. But what really shocked me is that we have no evidence of the relative physical risks and benefits of these long-term powerful medical interventions. We are experimenting on our own children—and in the case of public schools now encouraging kids to shift genders—other people’s children.”
—Admited she sees homosexuality as “an unfortunate thing”; advises that “you can always control your behavior”; says gay people’s “desires” are to be subjected to “moral critique.” (AUDIO AT LINK)
—Referred to being gay as “a sexual disability preventing certain individuals from participating in the normal reproductive patterns of the human species.”
—Called on the Bush administration to dedicate research dollars to “ex-gay” therapy.
—Compared winning the fight to ban marriage for gay couples with the fall of communism and believes that if it is made legal, it will mean “losing American civilization.”
—Believes polygamy is better than marriage equality: “At least polygamy, for all its ugly defects, is an attempt to secure stable mother-father families for children.”
—Said “I oppose extending anti-discrimination laws to gays.”
—Said both gay couples and their supporters as “committing several kinds of various serious sins.”
—Said gay people see marriage as just “a symbol.” (38:10–38:35)
—Defended the “ex-gay” organization JONAH (Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality), claiming the scientifically discredited therapy as simply “help” for gay Jews.
—Said Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy declared a “fatwa“ on people who oppose marriage equality.
The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
