In a new report, researchers explore the extent of discrimination and mistreatment that Latina transgender women living in Los Angeles, California experience from the very people whose job it is to uphold justice.

Last week, transgender advocate Alexis Rivera passed away from complications related to HIV. Rivera was 34 years old and worked as Policy Advocate at the Transgender Law Center in San Francisco since 2007. GLAAD offers deepest condolences to her friends, family, and all who loved her.
