The new documentary The OUT List premieres tonight and features several high profile LGBT individuals discussing coming out, building successful careers while out, and reflecting on the challenges still facing the LGBT community and the next steps for the movement.
Last night Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 67th annual Tony Awards, recognizing excellence in Broadway Theater. Following an opening number that featured a cameo by retired boxer Mike Tyson singing along Harris, Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein’s Kinky Boots received awards in six categories, including Best Musical while playwright and LGBT activist Larry Kramer accepted the Isabelle Stevenson Award.
This morning Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sutton Foster announced the 67th Annual Tony Award nominations from The New York Public Library for Performing Arts. Playwright and civil rights advocate Larry Kramer will receive the Isabelle Stevenson award at this year's Tony Awards to be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 8:00pm ET. Several LGBT-inclusive plays and musicals were also nominated for Tony honors, with Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein's Kinky Boots leading the pack with 13 nominations.
