Southern-California based Latino health and social services organization BIENESTAR has launched its latest public education campaign to promote acceptance and support and eradicate homophobia.

As the new year approaches, self-proclaimed "Christian cartoonist" Joe King has illustrated a calendar of twelve cartoons called, "I'm Not Gay, I'm Just A Sissy." Amazon has the calendar available for sale in their online stores, generating a response from LGBT advocates.

Outside of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a billboard advertising the shooting range Pro Shots reads, "Converting Pansies Daily," referencing the stereotype of effeminate gay men in need of a 'masculine' activity in their lives. The ad, which contained an image of a pansy flower and a gun, has been removed following complaints from North Carolina advocates.
