A Cleveland City Council member wants the murder of Cemia "Ce Ce" Dove investigated as a hate crime. "Too often we lose loved ones because of fear or hate. Violence should not be tolerated against anyone regardless of race, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation."
The Puerto Rican Senate approved a provision to their penal code that would eliminate protections for LGBT people from their hate crimes law. Change.org currently has a petition urging the Puerto Rico House of Representatives to stop the amendment. GLAAD joins Ricky Martin in urging people to sign the petition.
