Methodist Church reinstates Rev. Frank Schaefer, once defrocked for performing gay son's wedding
This reverses the church's December 2013 decision to defrock him seven years after officiating the wedding ceremony for Tim, one of his three gay sons, and Tim's husband.
Rev. Schaefer's 30 days are nearly up. Will he recant?
Rev. Frank Schaefer was found "guilty" of performing his son's wedding to another man by the United Methodist Church and given a 30-day suspension, at the end of which he was given the choice to renounce his ministry to the LGBT community or to be defrocked.
