Early this morning two men holding hands outside a Chelsea movie theater were senselessly beaten and called antigay slurs. Both required hospitalization for injuries. One of the man's injuries were so brutal he required stitches on his face.
Tomorrow, New York City council speaker Christine Quinn along with Empire State Pride Agenda and members LGBT advocacy organizations, including the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF), Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, and The Ali Forney Center will march on the steps of City Hall, in New York City.
Friday night in New York's Greenwich Village, police say a gunman, who is in custody but has yet to be identified, followed a gay man, taunting him with anti-gay slurs and homophobic language, before tragically shooting him in the head.
