November 17, 2011, New York, NY – The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, today announced GLAAD’s 2011 Top 100 Artists whose work will be auctioned at the 10th annual OUTAuction in New York City, presented by Bud Light and Rokk Vodka. The event will feature a cocktail reception, live and silent auctions featuring the works of Henri Matisse and Jordan Eagles, and a VIP after party. Proceeds from the event benefit GLAAD’s work to amplify the voices of the LGBT community by sharing stories of LGBT people in news, entertainment and social media. The event will be held on November 20, 2011 at 5 p.m. at New York City’s Metropolitan Pavilion.

GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists were selected by the volunteer Art Advisory Committee led by this year’s OUTAuction curator, Daneyal Mahmood.

OUTAuction is the largest and most visible art auction event in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, celebrating established and emerging artists as well as recognizing GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists.

Members of the Honorary Host Committee will be in attendance to join in the celebration of artistry. Members include jewelry designer Alexis Bittar, actress Michelle Clunie, actress Laverne Cox, Isis King (model/TV personality), Reichen (The A-List) Carrie Preston (True Blood), actor Anthony Rapp, Mike Ruiz (celebrity photographer/The A-List), MSNBC news anchor Thomas Roberts, Ramona Singer (Real Housewives of New York), Anne Thornton (host of Dessert First) and Jane Velez-Mitchell (TV journalist/author).

Recording artist and TV personality Kimberley Locke will also be in attendance providing a special music performance for the evening’s guests.

Live auction art pieces include URBC4, 2011 (Jordan Eagles) and Planche I, Henri Matisse, 1920 (Robert John Russo Gallery). Additionally, guests will bid on more than 100 unique pieces of art from participating artists including the works of Ron Amato, Justine Cooper, Melanie Daniel, Scooter, LaForge, Annie Leibovitz, James Lecce, Slava Mogutin, Lisa Ross, Christopher Russell, Mike Ruiz and Christopher Stout to name a few.

GLAAD’s Art Advisory Committee selected exactly 100 featured artists from a pool of hundreds of submissions.
