GLAAD works to improve the manner in which lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, events, and people are presented to the media.

One of the cornerstones to GLAAD's work in achieving its mission is our Media Field Strategy team's commitment to training both national and grassroots activists in media skills. Expanded and improved, GLAAD's Traning Services Program allows our Regional Media Managers to work with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organizations and individuals to refine and expand their understanding of the media and skills needed to work with them though training seminars, technical assistance and comprehensive resource guides.

"I would recommend the GLAAD media training to any activist on behalf of lesbian and gay equality...the experience and savvy of the trainers, coupled with a deceptively easy format...made it the most valuable media training I have ever experienced."
- Meg Riley, Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations

An organization's ability to effectively work with media professionals and increase visibility of its mission is a vital component of any overall strategic plan. Our opponents understand the importance of the media in shaping public opinion and invest their time and energies into getting their message on the air and into print. GLAAD's Regional Media Team will help you to improve your efforts to increase and improve media coverage of your concerns in your community.

To arrange to bring a GLAAD regional team member to your organization or community, download the Training Services Application or contact Rashad Robinson at (646) 871-8017 or at robinson@glaad.org.
