Welcome to GLAAD's MediaFocus:Bisexual Visibility Web Page, an initiative of GLAAD's Cultural Interest Media Project. As an organization committed to promoting fair, accurate and inclusive representation as a means of challenging all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity, GLAAD, with the support of the bisexual community, has developed this resource for not only gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, but for everyone interested in learning more about bisexual issues.

Like the other Cultural Interest Media Initative Web pages, the MediaFocus:Bisexual Visibility Web Page is an evolving, constantly updated resource. We have approached this project with two goals in mind. The first is to provide an introduction to bi issues and the bi community. We hope that those who are more interested in the issue, will pursue this by linking with any number of the sites provided. The second goal of this page is to provide historical and on going materials about bisexuality and the media, such as information on bisexuality in the movies, on television and in popular music.

We encourage you to take an active role telling the media how you feel about the portrayals (positive, negative and invisible) of bisexuals and bisexuality and respond to our GLAADAlerts, a weekly activation tool providing the community with the information and the means to respond to defamation quickly, easily and effectively.

Questions/Information/Comments about GLAAD's Bi Visibility Project may be directed to GLAAD's Cultural Interest Media Manager Monica Taher, at taher@glaad.org.
