Ardranae Byer is making a striving effort to empower and educate the artistic and professional urban LGBTQ community and abroad through her media company, IKONS Media Group. With the success of her publication IKONS Magazine and the magazine website www.ikonsmagazine.com, Ardranae has her eyes set on becoming the number one media outlet for the community she serves.
Her dedication and dive comes from the lack of positive Black and Latino gay and lesbian images in society, entertainment and media. Through her projects in the media industry, Ardranae is providing a platform for gays and lesbians in the arts and business to receive the recognition they deserve.
Ardranae also sits on the advisory board for New York City’s Black Pride (NYC Explosion), a proud member of the GLBTQS Chamber of Commerce and has won various awards for outstanding women in business including the Business Plan Competition presented by the Bronx Women’s Business Resource Center and sponsored by Capital One and The NYS Entrepreneurial Assistance Program. Her involvement with her community and the media industry has landed her on New York City’s Local News Station News12 and BronxNet. She continues to support other organizations by joining them to bring powerful events to the LGBTQ community like “Gladiator: The All Stud Fashion Show”, “Eden – San Francisco Pride Events”, “The Straight Talk Documentary”, 2012’s “Fusion – The 1st Queer Carnival” and much more.
