GLAAD launches new video series showcasing culture-changing stories | October 23, 2014

NEW YORK, NY – GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, today launched "GLAAD: All Access," a new online video series that features interviews with newsmakers, hit-makers, and people making a difference for equality. The series, hosted by GLAAD’s Claire Pires, is part of GLAAD’s culture-changing work to share stories that build support for LGBT equality.

Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox to light Empire State Building in purple for Spirit Day and National Bullying Prevention Month | October 9, 2014

NEW YORK, NY – On behalf of GLAAD and Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER), Emmy-nominated actress and transgender advocate Laverne Cox will light the iconic Empire State Building in purple on October 16, 2014, in recognition of Spirit Day and National Bullying Prevention Month.

Cox will be joined by GLAAD and youth featured in the new documentary “Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word,” which will premiere on MTV and Logo TV on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 7pm ET/PT.

GLAAD launches #spiritday app to support LGBT youth, powered by Toyota Financial Services | October 3, 2014

NEW YORK, NY – GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, today announced the launch of the "Go Purple for #spiritday" app, powered by Toyota Financial Services. The free app provides users with anti-bullying resources, calls to action, and helps users take part in Spirit Day, the largest and most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world that supports LGBT youth. The app is available now for Apple, Android, and Amazon devices.
