GLAAD'S 'Studio Responsibility Index' Finds Lack of LGBT Images, Offensive Content in Films Released by Seven Largest Studios | July 22, 2014

GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, today released its second annual Studio Responsibility Index (SRI), a report that maps the quantity, quality and diversity of images of LGBT people in films released by the seven largest motion picture studios during the 2013 calendar year. GLAAD announces inaugural San Francisco Gala | July 11, 2014

GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, today announced the inaugural GLAAD Gala San Francisco: Game Changers to recognize national and Bay Area leaders advancing LGBT equality through the media. The event will be presented nationally by Ketel One Vodka, Wells Fargo and Hilton Worldwide and locally by Southwest Airlines. The gala will be held on September 13, 2014 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and will also fund GLAAD's national advocacy work to rewrite the script for LGBT equality.

GLAAD and over 25 organizations: FIFA must take action on homophobia in soccer | July 11, 2014

GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, along with over 25 U.S. and international LGBT and human rights organizations sent a letter today to FIFA demanding concrete action to address homophobia in the game and anti-gay chants yelled in the stands. In advance of the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, GLAAD also announced a continued campaign to educate FIFA and corporate sponsors about the standing anti-LGBT laws in both of those countries.

NEW YORK, NY – In a historic first, New York-area Boy Scouts and members of the Brooklyn Chapter of Scouts for Equality, an organization composed largely of Boy Scouts of America (BSA) alumni dedicated to ending the BSA’s ban on gay members and leaders, will be among the groups leading the 44th Annual NYC Pride March, the nation's oldest and largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) pride event.
