Unbalanced Video - Parody of Effeminate Gay Men

Televisa's entertainment show La Parodia uses the stereotype of the flamboyant, effeminate gay man to bring humor to their cooking skit. The female cooks, "La Jitomata" and "La Perejila," are actually two men wearing wigs and dressed in chef clothing. They prance around, with limp wrists, cracking jokes as they pretend to cook. Historically and culturally, Spanish-language media hasn't made a distinction between gay and transgender people, making it hard for society to become aware of differences between these two groups.
