Chaz Bono Leaves Dancing with the Stars, but Still a Great Victory for Transgender Visibility

Unlike many of his competitors, Chaz Bono didn't come into Dancing With the Stars with a lifetime of training in performance or athletics behind him, but nevertheless he showed how far someone can go and improve through hard work and perseverance. What's more, Chaz allowed millions upon millions of viewers to learn a little more about him with each passing week and quickly became the world's most well-known transgender person.

Pro-LGBT Billboard Initiative a Go after Some Opposition

Days after the Holland City Council refused to expand its anti-discrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation and the Lansing city council members unanimously opposed a measure that would dissolve numerous anti-discrimination laws in the state, Michigan advocates are speaking out about CBS Outdoor and its initial refusal to run a pro-LGBT billboard campaign.

Spirit Day: Worship & Puppets

Spirit Day was celebrated October 20, and on that day, we saw numerous businesses, celebrities, denominations, and even the White House go purple to show support for LGBT youth and safe schools. However, many worshipping communities held their commemoration until they gathered for weekend services. Now that “Spirit Weekend” is over, we offer you a couple of examples of what congregations did to address bullying in worship.
