British Prime Minister David Cameron has said he raised gay rights in Russia at a 2am meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
The face-to-face conference at the G20 summit was promised in advance by the UK PM to LGBT rights activists.
It comes as people around the world have taken to the streets to express concern over LGBT rights issues in Russia, particularly the new federal law, signed by Putin, which bans the ‘propaganda’ of homosexuality to minors.
Within the last few minutes, Cameron has sent a tweet revealing: "2am meeting with President Putin. A candid conversation on #Syria. I also raised concerns about gay rights."
