S.F. may kick Walesa to curb over anti-gay stance

He may be a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and democracy icon, but former Polish president Lech Walesa may also soon carry the distinction of having his name stripped from a San Francisco street.
Supervisor Jane Kim is seeking to change the name of Lech Walesa Street, a small alleyway near Civic Center, after the former Polish president remarked earlier this month that gay politicians should “sit behind a wall” in Parliament.
