San Diego Mayor Calls On RNC To Support Marriage Equality
Five years after San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced his support for marriage equality, he sent a message to the Republican National Convention in Tampa to get behind the cause of marriage equality.
In 2007, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced his support for marriage equality, after publically being against it.
“I have close family members and friends who are members of the gay and lesbian community including my daughter Lisa,” said Sanders after years of opposing marriage between gays and lesbians.
Now, Sanders is the face of a 30-second advertisement asking GOP members to follow him and change their views.
