'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' captures Indie Spirit Award

And the Film Independent Spirit Award for best first feature goes to ... Pittsburgh native Stephen Chbosky for "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
Mr. Chbosky, who adapted and directed the movie based on his novel, emerged from a field that included "Fill the Void," "Safety Not Guaranteed," "Sound of My Voice" and "Gimme the Loot." He was honored today at the awards show held in a beachside tent in Santa Monica, Calif.
