Thursday is the deadline for friend-of-the-court briefs as the high court reviews Proposition 8, the California measure that bans gay marriage. The Obama administration is not obligated to file a brief -- and it would not be legally binding in any event -- but President Obama indicated he is thinking about it during an interview last week with KGO-TV of San Francisco.
