President Barack Obama came home to Chicago on Wednesday to raise money for House Democrats — and he used the occasion to give a key boost to a state bill that would legalize gay marriage. “Here in Illinois, we’ve got a vote on same-sex marriage that’s going to be coming up in the Legislature,” Obama told donors at his second fund-raiser of the night. “ I just want to say for the record it’s something that I deeply support.” During his visit, Obama also spoke of gun violence, climate change and other pressing national issues.
