President Obama made a point Monday of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Equal Pay Act, calling for more action to close the wage gap between men and women. Making a reference to his own daughters, the president noted that women now earn 77 cents for every dollar a man does, on average.”Over the course of her career, a working woman with a college degree will earn on average hundreds of thousands of dollars less than a man who does the same work,” Obama said. “Now, that’s wrong. I don’t want that for Malia and Sasha. I don’t want that for your daughters.”
