Lawrence, Kansas Commissioners Approve Transgender Non-Discrimination Protections

The city commissioners of Lawrence, Kansas voted 4-1 last night to add gender identity protections to the city's Human Relations ordinance after three hours of public comments and discussion. The ordinance provides nondiscrimination protections for employment, housing, and public accommodations. Lawrence is the first city in Kansas to add such protections for trans people.
