Lake County School Board members met for about three hours Monday but made little progress in finalizing new rules limiting which student clubs would be allowed on campus next year — including a new gay-straight club. The discussion came just days after the School Board agreed to temporarily allow eighth-grader Bayli Silberstein to form a Gay-Straight Alliance at Carver Middle School in Leesburg. The board faced pressure from a lawsuit filed last Wednesday by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of the 14-year-old who has been trying to start the club since November.
