A gay teacher seeking reinstatement to a Roman Catholic high school in Columbus said she hopes the support she has received from around the world will encourage young people who question their sexuality. Physical-education teacher Carla Hale referred to such youths, especially Catholic youths, during a news conference yesterday, when she addressed her efforts to get back to work at Bishop Watterson High School in Clintonville. “Hopefully, they’re seeing just the support and the love that’s out there, and it’s reassuring them that regardless of their sexual orientation ... we all deserve the same equalities, and the world’s changing,” Hale, 57, said during the appearance at Stonewall Columbus in the Short North.
