FDNY firefighter on trial for assault charges in fight with transgender model
A domestic dispute between two models, one of them a FDNY firefighter, is heating up in court. Taylor Murphy, 29, is on trial for charges that he violently attacked his girlfriend, Claudia Charriez, a transgender model known for her appearance as a contestant on "American's Next Top Model." Murphy, who appeared as "Mr. March" in a calender featuring FDNY firefighters, is accused of pulling Charriez's hair, shoving her into a phone booth and choking her outside a Midtown strip club on the night of Aug. 6, 2011. He's also accused of kicking, punching, and biting her inside a hotel room. Opening statements in the trial began Thursday.
