The importance of family is often central to the church’s advocacy for marriage for gay and lesbian couples. “Love, mutual respect and care are hallmarks of family,” adds Rev. Kenneth Samuel, pastor of Victory for the World Church in Stone Mountain, Ga. “So all that the church can do to support, bless and sanction family, we should.”

I'm honored to have written this piece for Ebony.com spotlighting the increasing number of Black pastors that speak out for LGBT equality. I commend Ebony.com for taking the lead on featuring LGBT-inclusive stories that affect our community.
