Support for Washington’s historic measure legalizing marriage equality was strongest in Seattle, but carried across Lake Washington throughout most of the Eastside suburbs. A Seattle Times analysis of precinct vote totals shows intense support inside the city of Seattle – with approval of Referendum 74 reaching a high mark of 94 percent in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. In all, 82 percent of Seattle voters said yes to equal marriage protections for same-sex couples.
