Congressional Candidate Closes Twitter Account, Saying It Was Hacked

Rep. Trey Gowdy’s Democratic challenger, Deb Morrow, closed her Twitter account after someone with access to it used it to call Gowdy a gay.
Morrow quickly denied responsibility for two tweets calling the Republican congressman from Spartanburg a “homo.” She closed her “@Morrow4Congress” Twitter account and said that it had been hacked.
The tweets made it to the media after Sean Bertran, a Washington, D.C.-based social media consultant with ties to South Carolina Republican groups, saw the tweets and passed them along to South Carolina news organizations.
One called Gowdy a “homo” and the other said that Gowdy and South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham both are homosexual.
A self-described activist, Morrow admits to not being very social media savvy.
