Note from GLAAD
GLAADGreater acceptance of equal rights for gays and lesbians has been one of the hallmark achievements of recent U.S. history. Most organizations have adopted anti-discrimination policies that include sexual orientation. The public barely blinks an eye at openly gay politicians and entertainers. Just last year, the U.S. military dropped its "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Seven states have legalized same-sex marriage, and the president of the United States has endorsed it.
