Issues:

Earl Sweatshirt, member of hip-hop group Odd Future, whose name sounds like a character from Rocko’s Modern Life, has dropped a contemplative track featuring the imminently lovable Frank Ocean.

The song, called “Sunday” is “painfully honest,” starring Sweatshirt drawling over a minimal drum beat and a quiet synthesized organ loop. Taking on topics like drug use, homophobia, love, loss, and revenge, this anti-summer-jam probably won’t be getting a lot of radio play towards the end of this hot season.

What steals the show is Ocean’s nasty and deserved takedown of (what is clearly an allusion to this year’s earlier parking lot altercation with) Chris Brown:

They called me soft in high school, thank God I’m jagged / Forgot you don’t like it rough, I mean he called me a f*****, I was just calling his bluff / I mean how anal I gon’ be when I’m aiming my gun / and why his mug all bloody? That was a 3-on-1/ Standing ovation at Staples, I got my Grammy’s and gold.
