BSA: Gay Maybe Okay - But Not if You're Over 18

The new BSA policy appears to mirror this LDS Church policy in differentiating between gay youth and gay adults. Both also carry the implication that gay adults are less trustworthy in positions of responsibility with children—a widely-rejected canard associating homosexuality with child sexual abuse.

Harvard Students Stage Same-Sex Hindu Wedding

The ceremony, entitled “Suhaag: A Hindu Same-Sex Mock Wedding,” was one of the first student events to take place in the newly renovated Science Center Plaza, transforming the concrete common space into a colorful scene of celebration.

Dharma, Harvard’s Hindu Student Association, has staged mock Hindu weddings for the Harvard community in the past but has not done so in recent years.

Faith Leaders Express Disappointment on Continued Ban on Gay Boy Scout Leaders

Yesterday, the Boy Scouts of America proposed maintaining its ban on adult gay leaders, while dropping the ban on gay scouts. Several faith leaders quickly expressed their disappointment in the proposed policy change. All faith leaders continued to call for a fully inclusive scouting program that included qualified gay leaders, even while some expressed joy that gay scouts would no longer be removed.
