Delaware House Approves Marriage Equality Bill

The state House on Tuesday narrowly approved a bill legalizing gay marriage in Delaware, barely a year after the state began recognizing same-sex civil unions. The measure cleared the House on a 23-to-18 vote and now goes to the Senate, where supporters and opponents expect another close vote.

Philadelphia LGBT community asks what - or who - killed transgender woman Nizah Morris 10 years ago

Nizah Morris, a transgender woman, sustained a fatal head wound while in the custody of three Philadelphia police officers in December of 2002. Circumstances surrounding her death were never fully understood by the community and now 10 years later the community and Morris's family are demanding further investigation.

OP-ED: Listen Up, Boy Scouts

With relatives and very, very close friends, fine. I'll be alone with my nephew. But I won't be alone with your child. I just won't.

I grew up in a place and time where homosexuality was strongly associated with sexual predators and with pedophilia, and I don't want to make you uncomfortable or suspicious or risk some sort of false accusation. I don't much care for most children anyway, so it's simply not worth it to me. It makes me uncomfortable to think that you may be uncomfortable, so I avoid the possibility entirely.
