On World AIDS Day, we commemorate those who have been lost to the epidemic while also showing unity in continued efforts to fight it and recognizing the ways it has reshaped our world. Much of that has been reflected in film and television addressing HIV/AIDS, though attention to the epidemic hasn’t always remained consistent.
Tonight catch all new episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Say Yes to the Dress, on Saturday a showing of Sweet Home Alabama, and on Sunday Desperate Housewives, Boardwalk Empire, Hung, and a showing of The Kids are All Right.
In June, Equality Maine and the Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) produced videos for their joint website, called Why Marriage Matters Maine, in support of marriage equality. Now, these organizations have a new and exciting opportunity to reach a wider audience than ever before through airing one of the videos as an ad on television.
