Thousands are United for Marriage in advance of Supreme Court Hearings on DOMA and Prop 8

In just two weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will consider two cases about the freedom to marry. On March 26 & 27, thousands of people will gather in Washington, DC, for a rally outside of the Supreme Court at 8:30am. You can be one of them!

Love is what makes a family

Just last week, Puerto Rico’s Supreme Court upheld a law that prohibits joint adoption by gay couples.

In a 5-4 decision, the court said a woman could not adopt a 12-year-old girl whom her longtime partner conceived through in vitro fertilization. In the majority opinion the court stated a family composed of a mother and father is best for a child’s “dignity, stability and well-being.”

Homofobia en el fútbol, ¿por dónde comenzar?

Hablar de homofobia en el fútbol es un tabú. Es un tema que hiere susceptibilidades, principalmente, porque se considera quisquilloso concentrarse en él. La reciente emisión de Sin Filtro -una mesa de debate universitario que se transmite por Foro TV los domingos por la noche- abordó dedicó su último bloque a la intolerancia y discriminación en este deporte. Aunque la discusión fue corta (no más de 10 minutos), contó con la participación de dos voces interesantes que vale la pena rescatar

LGBTQ* activism — first ever Latino Institute at National Creating Change Conference

Three weeks ago, I attended the 25th annual Creating Change Conference as part of a delegation from the University of Pennsylvania’s LGBT center. I was fortunate enough to be a part of their first ever Latino Institute — a full day of workshops focusing specifically on the intersection between a Latin@ and queer identity.
