Spirit Day is quickly approaching and GLAAD’s Spanish-Language Media Team invites you share your stories of how you overcame a difficult situation related to acceptance. We plan to highlight some of the submitted stories on GLAAD Blog the week leading up to and after Spirit Day on October 20. Providing your stories will help amplify the stories of LGBT and ally voices of color that often go unheard.

The site guanabee.com recently published a post that included the line “Eva Longoria confronts a bitchy queen who fags out on her.” GLAAD reached out to explain how words and sentiments like these are used to bully LGBT youth in schools and how often these words accompany anti-gay violence. Rather than set an example and stand with LGBT readers, guanabee is defending the post.
