A transgender high school student in Colorado was crowned her high school's homecoming princess on Friday, according to the Associated Press. Scarlett Lenh, a 16-year-old junior at Sand Creek High School Colorado Springs, said she didn't expect to be nominated in the first place.
Earlier this summer, Dutee Chand, an Indian national champion sprinter, was disqualified from the Commonwealth Games because, according to the International Association of Athletics Federations, her levels of testosterone are too high. Dutee hasn’t doped or cheated; her hormone levels are naturally occurring.
