Court rules trans students can choose bathroom they identify with, sets legal precedent

For the first time in the US, a court ruled it unlawful and a violation of human rights to prevent transgender students from using the bathroom of the gender with which they identify. This decision was reached after a three-year-long case in Maine, filed on behalf of high school girl Nicole Maines, who is trans.
