Carrie Underwood Comes Out in Favor of Marriage Equality

Carrie Underwood, the popular country singer and red carpet fashion darling, has come out firmly in favor of marriage equality.

"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love and want to marry," she said in an interview with The Independent. "I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."

In a new video, Jamaican reggae artist Beenie Man says he respects “each and every human being” regardless of their sexual orientation. The video is a response of sorts to the global protests against his music and concerts that resulted from years of the artist writing and performing songs calling for the murder of gay people.


T.I. Talks Supporting Obama's Marriage Equality Stance

Along with Jay-Z, fellow hip-hop artist T.I. also supports President Obama’s recently announced position on marriage equality.

The ATL-based MC told MTV that he also believes that one “should be able to do whatever you want to do” when it comes to one’s love life.

“Just to speak honestly and being frank, I don’t care,” Tip said about the ongoing political debate during an appearance Wednesday on “RapFix Live.”
