Elementary school refuses to speak, as twenty thousand Americans stand up for 6-year-old transgender girl
March 7, 2013, New York, NY – GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) today announced that Eagleside Elementary School in Fountain, CO has rejected mediation in a civil rights case asking the school to allow 6 year-old transgender student Coy Mathis to use the girls' bathroom at her school.

The head of a western Massachusetts charter school says a student production of a play that retells the biblical story of Genesis with gay characters will go on as planned despite objections from some who say it's offensive to Christians.
Steve Salbu, dean of Georgia Institute of Technology's Scheller College of Business, says he is the only openly gay dean at a top U.S. business school. As a result, he feels a duty to speak out for openness and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and professionals.
