BRIDEGROOM, the documentary about tragedy befalling a gay couple and the inequalities that comes from a lack of marriage protections, has become the highest funded film in the history of Kickstarter.com. The fundraising website, which has helped to finance more than 7,400 films, confirmed that the indie documentary about marriage equality surpassed all previous fundraising efforts by netting $384,375 in four weeks.

Not too long ago GLAAD blog readers were introduced to Hello Forever, a film starring transgender model and actress Isis King about Filipina women trying to overcome obstacles and find a way out of poverty. The filmmakers took to Kickstater in hopes to raise funds to cover post-production costs and festival submission fees. With your help they met their goal, and Isis shared her excitement on Twitter.
