This October, GLAAD launched Southern Stories to elevate the experiences of LGBT people in the US South. The initiative amplifies stories of LGBT individuals who are thriving in the South, as well as the everyday indignities endured by LGBT people who simply wish to live the lives they love.
Today, Many Voices, the video series highlighting Black LGBT-affirming voices in the U.S. South, released its third video in a three-part Ally Voices series. In the video, Rev. Reggie Longcrier, a pastor at Exodus Missionary Outreach Church in Hickory, North Carolina, talks about LGBT acceptance, his work as a prison chaplain, and his commitment to ensuring that all who enter his church feel safe and welcome.
Today is the final day of #5DaysofEquality, a time to celebrate the anniversaries of 31 Australian same-sex couples who were married one year ago during a brief period from December 7 – 12, before their marriages were revoked. GLAAD has been encouraging our followers to share messages of support for these couples throughout #5DaysofEquality.
