When Alessandra Bernaroli, a transgender woman in Italy, officially changed her name and gender on her identity card, the Bologna court forced a divorce with her wife, also named Alessandra. Their appeal for the divorce got turned down, but Italy's high court has now overturned the initial ruling.
The couple, to whom the extent of the legal rights they have over their babies has not been made clear, are resolved to protect the boys. They are not giving up on getting the state to recognize them as the family they know they are.

Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) appeared on CNBC this morning and responded to his recent comparison of gay people to alcoholics. In the process, the former presidential candidate made everything worse by making inaccurage claims about the LGBT community, and also by creeping me out.
