New GLAAD Videos Show LGBT Movement, Civil Rights Movement, and Labor Movement United in Growing National Campaign Against Stop and Frisk

New York, New York—Today, GLAAD, the leading national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, released videos of LGBT leaders, civil rights leaders, and labor leaders discussing the negative impact of the stop and frisk policy at the historic Stonewall Inn, in order to mobilize these movements for a Father’s Day march that will advance a shared agenda of equality and justice.

Boy Scouts to Consider Lifting Ban on Gay People

After coming under fire for ousting openly gay den mother Jen Tyrrell, Boy Scouts of America officials say the organization will officially consider a resolution to end its ban on allowing openly gay members. But BSA spokesman Deron Smith said in a statement that, "Contrary to media reports, the Boy Scouts of America has no plans to change its membership policy. The introduction of a resolution does not indicate the organization is 'reviewing' a policy or signal a change in direction."
