Apparently, even she could tell I wasn’t a New Yorker. Then, as the train came to a stop at the station (sure enough, 28th Street), her attention was drawn to a gay couple who boarded holding hands. She quieted. “Do those men love each other?” she asked her father. This could be interesting.

Piers Morgan shot back at Kirk Cameron on Tuesday, after the actor alleged that he was blindsided by the CNN host when he made controversial comments against gay people. In an interview with Morgan earlier this month, Cameron had said that being gay is "unnatural... Film Offers Refreshing Take on Gay Christian Youth Experience

Stephen Cone’s film The Wise Kids, which opened at ReRun Gastropub Theater in Brooklyn this past weekend, is a refreshing take on youth sexuality, both gay and straight, in Southern Baptist communities. Set in Charleston, South Carolina, the film features three high school seniors: About-to-come-out Tim, doubting preacher’s daughter Brea, and biblical literalist Laura, who all confront issues of identity, self-acceptance, and faith.
