Anti-gay activists from Alliance Defending Freedom presented less than 19,000 signatures to the Boy Scouts of America requesting that they keep in place their anti-gay membership policy. This compared to the 1.8 million presented in a petition by Scouts for Equality.

Nizah Morris, a transgender woman, sustained a fatal head wound while in the custody of three Philadelphia police officers in December of 2002. Circumstances surrounding her death were never fully understood by the community and now 10 years later the community and Morris's family are demanding further investigation.

Yesterday, the Boy Scouts of America proposed maintaining its ban on adult gay leaders, while dropping the ban on gay scouts. Several faith leaders quickly expressed their disappointment in the proposed policy change. All faith leaders continued to call for a fully inclusive scouting program that included qualified gay leaders, even while some expressed joy that gay scouts would no longer be removed.
