Mormon authors back gay writer in dispute with Cedar Fort

A dispute between a Utah publisher and a gay author who made a nod to his boyfriend in his biography has gained the attention of Mormons in the publishing community. As of Saturday morning, 41 Mormon authors had signed a letter asking publishers to base decisions on "content, quality, and commercial viability, not on any other factor."

The widely disputed idea that sexual orientation is "curable" or changeable is bad enough, but even worse is that many people who end up in gay conversion therapies are minors, Murray told HuffPost. Santa Fe Mayoral Candidate Javier Gonzales: “accepting that you are gay is complicated”

Former state Democratic Party chair and prospective Santa Fe mayoral candidate Javier Gonzales posted in a blog today that he is gay.

Gonzales came out on the website Familia es Familia, which works to “build support among Latino communities for acceptance of gay and lesbian family members,” according to the site. The headline over the post is, “My Renewed Faith in Santa Fe.”
